Frequently Asked Questions

How does plant identification work?

Take or import a photo of a plant and GardenPin sends it to an AI identification service to suggest the species, common names, and care details. Clear, well-lit photos of leaves, flowers, or the whole plant give the best results.

Where is my data stored?

Your plants, gardens, notes, and photos are stored on your device and, if you enable it, in your personal iCloud account. We don't operate servers that store your personal plant data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I back up or move my gardens to a new device?

Enable iCloud sync in Settings β†’ iCloud inside GardenPin. Your gardens will sync to your iCloud account and appear automatically when you sign in with the same Apple ID on a new device.

How do I print QR labels?

Open a plant, choose Print Label, and send it to any AirPrint-compatible or connected printer. Each label includes a QR code linking back to that plant's details.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual plants and gardens in the app, erase all app data via Settings β†’ Data, or delete the app to remove everything stored locally. To remove iCloud data, go to iOS Settings β†’ [Your Name] β†’ iCloud β†’ Manage Storage β†’ GardenPin.

Which devices are supported?

GardenPin runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS/iPadOS 17 or later.
